We are now taking the orders for this book named “Buu Wa” “The Prison Gate” which is a compilation of essays written by the political prisoners while inside the Loikaw Prison. It contains their original Burmese essays and the English translation.
The forwards are written by the political prisoners of Loikaw prison, Ma Thida ( Sanchaung ) and Sanchaung Bo Bo. There is also a note from Dr Mon Mon Gale who did the English translation.
We are able to produce this book only because the authors are now in relatively safe places.
The views by Sean Turnell and Kim Aris are on the back cover. Having read the book they both remarked on the courage and resilience of the authors.
All the proceeds from the sale of this book after deducting the costs will be used to support the authors, their families and other political prisoners.
We are going to start the sale of this book on the 22nd January at the showing of the Nargis documentary film in UK. The book will become widely available on the 1st of February 2025, the 4th year anniversary of the coup in Burma.
